Cheap Aquariums
I found myself in the petstore last week, looking at cheap aquariums. I was thinking of getting more of a standard, cuddly, fluffy pet, at first. I'm recently single, and I thought that some companionship might cheer me up. But a puppy or kitten is so much to take care of. You can't even go on vacation without having to worry about who's going to feed it and look in on it. In the end, I decided that the best way for a single guy to go would be with tropical fish. They keep you company, are interesting to look at, and aren't too difficult to handle.

After my girlfriend left me, I moped around for several months. The relationship was several years long, and it hit me hard. Long story short, she found another guy. One of my buddies was tired of seeing me so down all the time, so he suggested that something to take care of might take my mind off of it. He mentioned fish and cheap aquariums. When I asked him why I would get a fish, he told me that since she left, I was drinking like one anyway. Everyone's a comedian.
At first, the idea of cheap aquariums didn't sit so well with me. I thought that a puppy would be way better. But like I said, that's a lot of work. It's like having a child. It gets lonely if you stay away too long and howls. It needs to be walked and fed every day. It's happier if you spend time playing with it. Although playing with it would be the general idea, so that wouldn't be a problem. But the other stuff - I'd be chained to the house all the time.
But fish. What do you really need to do to take care of fish? That's why I started to look at cheap aquariums. It seems like all you have ot do is feed them and tap on the tank every now and then to liven up their days. You may have to clean your cheap aquariums too, but how often could you possibly need to? It's a chore, yeah, but nothing to keep you in any one place. So, if I decided that I wanted to be a hundred miles away form here one weekend, I could just do it and not have to worry about anything. And that is very possible at this point too. I'm getting tired of walking down all the same streets that I did with her. It's depressing. I think some new, drastically different scenery would really help my attitude.
So, that's how I wound up going up and down the aisles looking at all the cheap aquariums they had. I haven't decided on one yet. There are all different kinds, and I'm not sure how big I want to go. I'm sure I want more than one pet fish. But I don't know if I want to really go crazy with it either.
